About SANStorm
We at SANStorm have worked on many sides of the fence. We've worked as sales, end users, Sys Admins, etc. We have found that if would have been helpful to have an advocate that was not trying to sell us anything and understood the storage market. That is why we have created SANStorm. A company that has the experience and background to help the decision makers find the correct storage solution as well as the best vendor.
The process for selecting a storage vendor and its product line is often an uncertain and prolonged expenditure of resources. This is especially true if you don’t have a detailed knowledge of storage, applications and systems - and how they all work together.
Throughout my career in systems and networked storage design, I’ve seen that many of the companies with which I was working would have benefited from a source for vendor-neutral advice on storage architecture and education. There is a great deal of misleading information about both available products as well as products that don’t yet exist. An additional hurdle is that most readily available information is targeted towards (or against) manufacturers of particular storage and system products.
From computer industry magazines to vendor websites, there is a lot of confusion about the latest buzz words in Storage Area Networking:
iSCSI, SAN, NAS, SAS, SATA, Virtualization, FCIP, iFCP, Online, Nearline, Offline. . .
What do these words and acronyms mean? How do these products work? Do they work together? What do you really need to purchase?
You need an advocate specifically dedicated to you that will:
- Educate your staff on the industry standards
- Filter vendor information to get the answers you need. Quickly.
- Create a true “apples to apples” comparison between vendor products and claims
- Help you find the right components for your needs and budget. Assist with a cost-effective decision-making process
- Design a storage solution to fit your application
- Plan a solution that both fulfills your current needs and accommodates future growth
Most importantly, you need an advocate who is dedicated to your success!
